YANGON, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- A total of 48 investment projects have been approved in Myanmar's western Rakhine state, according to a report of the Implementation Committee for the Recommendations on Rakhine State issued late Monday.

The investments include those in the livestock and fisheries sector, construction, hotels and tourism, mining, and power, among others.

Altogether 50 villages in Kyaukphyu township have been provided with about 30 million kyats (23,077 U.S. dollars) each by the investors as part of Corporate Social Responsibility operation.

Investments also entered into the education sector as well as infrastructure in Rakhine state.

Aimed at transportation development in the state, some roads and 20 bridges, destroyed by terrorist attacks last year, have been rebuilt so far.

Meanwhile, construction work for Mayyu Mountain road project is also underway by the authorities.
