ISLAMABAD, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces have killed four suspected terrorists including an important commander of a banned organization during a search operation in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, security officials said on Saturday.

According to the officials, security forces launched the operation in the mountainous areas of Shadi Kour and Paidarak in Kech, a district in Balochistan province, on the basis of intelligence reports regarding the presence of armed militants.

The officials said that an exchange of fire with the militants took place when the security personnel raided the area. During the shootout four of the militants were killed.

"An important commander of the militants was among the four dead," a security official said.

The killed militants were identified as commander Jamil Ahmed, Rais Khan, and Safar Khan. One of the militants remained unidentified so far.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistani law enforcement agencies arrested six terrorists and seized a huge cache of weapons from their possession in the same province, according to local reports.
