DHAKA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's largest National Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Fair-2018 began in the capital of Dhaka on Wednesday.

Nearly 300 SME institutions have been exhibiting their products, including jute, agriculture and leather products and electrical and information and technology goods at the five-day fair.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).

In a prepared speech, Hasina said the government would establish SME advisory centers in all districts and subdistricts, which will act as one-stop centers to provide service to the entrepreneurs.

"Entrepreneurs will be able to avail themselves of the support about starting a new business, expansion of existing ones, management and technical training, and consultancy services from these centres."

Display and sale centers of SMEs would be established in every divisional city for displaying and selling of the products of successful entrepreneurs, Hasina added.

SME Foundation and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) have jointly organized the fair aimed at promoting the SME products and introduction of SME goods for expanding business, trade and commerce.

Da Ching Ching is a small enterpreuner from Bandarban, a southeastern Bangladesh district.

"My products are glass bottles. People throw glass bottles here and there and pollute environment. I collect such used bottles and clean them well. Then I paint rickshaws on the bottles and sell them."

Another Airin Pervin, executive director of Ananya Boutique Center, said 160 women have been working at her boutique center.

"I came here with various Nakshi kantha, a type of embroidered quilt. Many buyers are coming. Everyone likes my products. I feel very good."
