ACCRA, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Ghana is set to benefit from increased Chinese investment, as some companies attending the 2019 China Trade Week (CTW) believe in great prospects for investment in the Ghanaian market.

Companies in renewable energy, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and food and beverage, among other sectors, have participated in the three-day fair which ends Friday.

"We manufacture diesel engines and generators, and this is our first time in Ghana. We are satisfied with the interest shown in our products. We are looking for a credible agent to set up an outlet here," He Fengying, an executive of Changzhou Fengqing Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Ltd., told Xinhua.

Similarly, Yang Qiaoyun of Shenzhen Souyin New Energy, a manufacturer of solar panels and other accessories, said the company, which is in Ghana for the first time, seeks to help Ghanaians reap the benefits of abundant sunshine through the use of solar power.

"Ghana has abundant sunshine, so it will benefit Ghanaians if they use solar power," she said.

Not all companies at the fair are entirely new to Ghana. Tian Yi Electronics has already established an outlet in the country with five local employees, after attending the 2018 CTW.

CEO of Tian Yi Gong Zhenghua lauded organizers of the trade fair for their vision and foresight in using such an event to unlock potential markets and partnerships for both Chinese manufacturers and Ghanaian businesses.

"This is my first visit to Ghana. We have been doing (business in) Nigeria for 15 years, but the Ghanaian market is better than other West African markets," Wang Yui, CEO of Kadya Foods, told Xinhua.

He added that since there are people from other neighboring countries who come to procure goods from Ghana, it will be prudent for his company to establish an outlet to serve those demands.
